View Article  Dream Breakfast Winner!

I'm back from the Dune 107.9FM studios in Southport where my radio career has today sadly ended.

The Dream Breakfast promotion has brought entries from right across Merseyside and West Lancashire, and I think it's fair to say there are some weird and wonderful things being eaten all over the region!

There are many items we don't surrently serve.  Some such as eggy bread we have somehow overlooked.  As for some of the others: well, let's just say we won't be serving kippers for fear of never getting the aroma out of the soft furnishings!

The winning entry comes from a lady by the name of Susan in Lydiate whose breakfast itself added a new twist with haggis, but whose lovely tale of domestic chaos won the judges over: it sounds as though Susan needs the break!  Here's what she submitted in response to the request to, 'Tell us what you'd love in your Dream Breakfast:'

"First of all my 'dream breakfast' wouldn't be served until at least 9.30.

It would consist of a small bowl of strawberries with a big dollop of yoghurt. Following this would be a plate full of scrummy scrambled egg served with either haggis or black pudding, followed by HOT toast with lots and lots of crunchy peanut butter! Of course also with MUGS (not cups!) of hot tea! Delicious.  But what would make it so dreamy is no
little voices saying Mummy I need a wee or Mummy I've spilt my juice or having to prise two little boys apart for fighting over the last piece of toast (which is mine anyway).

See DREAMY BREAKFAST...doesn't happen in our house.

Hope I win!!!!"

Well Susan, win you did and we very much look forward to welcoming you for a well deserved two night stay with champagne and your dram breakfast served to you, just as you'd like it.  Congratulations!

A runner-up prize of £25.00 off a 2 night stay goes to Mr & Mrs Bristow of Southport who said:
"We would love in our dream breakfast,Fresh Fruit Salad, followed by our favourite sausages, cumberland of course, and crispy bacon, and whilst my husband prefers fried eggs, I love egg bread, which he has made for me
now for 30 years!

On our honeymoon in Paris in 1979, we had lovely french bread and yummy coffee with pieces of chocolate to eat with the bread.

This year is a special Anniversary for us 30 years, and if we don't win this prize, my hubby will cook this breakfast for me I hope."

As part of our series of themed weekend breaks, we’ve created an irresistible combination of French Champagne, the very best of Southport’s shopping and one of Southport’s finest dining experiences to bring you a special Christmas shopping weekend of Bubbles & Boutiques.

Mulled wine and mince pies on arrival; two nights Bed & Breakfast accommodation including breakfast of choice; a bottle of champagne for each room and a fabulous three course dinner for just £99 per person!

The orginal weekend of Friday 4th to Sunday 6th December is already fully booked, so we've added two more weekend dates for you to chose from: Friday 28th to 30th November & Friday 11th to Sunday 13th December 2009.

The Christmas market is expected to be running from 10th-14th December, so the final Bubbles & Boutiques weekend will have even more shopping to explore.

Looking for B&B in Southport?  Look no further: The Ambassador Townhouse is the award winning boutique B&B everyone's talking about

Hotel to Townhouse is what we call the journey we've taken since buying a clean but tired B&B called The Ambassador Hotel in December 2003. If you've stayed with us before, you'll know how things constantly change and how we've brought it a long way since those early days.

To celebrate this and our Best B&B award, we've commissioned a fantastic coffee table book entitled Hotel to Townhouse. It will soon be available to view in our light and airy lounge so next time you visit, grab a coffee and a naughty little snack and settle back to see how we've created Southport's award winning boutique B&B!
